I was a Safety Co-ordinator with FKP Construction for two years and was in charge of Safety at the Energex Project at Newstead. The Electrical Contractors on this site were Q Electrical and were at this site for almost 18 months. During my time with FKP I had a lot of contact with Q Electrical during the course of my duties. I found them to be professional in the way they performed their work and were always willing to please and ensure that work performed was done safely.
I found that Q Electrical outstanding as far as their policies and procedures were concerned where safety was their main priority. The Safe Work Method Statements that were submitted clearly showed their professionalism as an Electrical Contractor and it was evident that they took pride in what they did. Their attitude to safety was one of ‘Safety First’ and was always compliant with Australian Standards as well as the Electrical Safety Act 2002.
Since leaving FKP I moved to Leighton Contractors Pty Ltd as a Safety Manager at One One One Eagle Street Brisbane. I was fortunate enough to have Q Electrical as the Electrical Contractors performing work on this site. Even though the team is different for the past site, I still find that their attitude towards safety is outstanding.
Q Electrical has clearly been proactive in relation to their safety and this is evident by the time and effort that they contribute to preparing their safe work method statements ensuring that safety is their top priority.
